BEFORE & AFTER
As we age, our face ages due to volume loss and skin laxity. Dr. Christie’s facial rejuvenation analysis starts with an assessment of the categories above and determining whether you are best for non-surgical rejuvenation treatments, a hybrid, or if you are a surgical candidate. A facelift is a surgical procedure to lift the facial muscles, resect excess skin, and restore volume loss. Volume restoration typically involves nano-fat transfer. A variety of techniques are possible and customized to each patient’s needs and desired downtime.
A surgical necklift address excess skin or loose muscles of the neck. Dr. Christie likes to use a combination approach to minimize the scar burden by addressing skin laxity with skin tightening and resurfacing followed by surgical resection and platysmal plication.
MINIMIALLY-INVASIVE SKIN TIGHTENING
For many patients who desire a tight jawline without the scar burden, minimally-invasive combination therapy utilizing energy is a great way to tighten the skin of the lower face and neck without the need for incisions. A consultation determines whether you are a good candidate for these procedures or would be better served with surgical techniques. Dr. Christie uses a number of different technologies including FaceTite, BodyTite, AccuTite, Morpheus, CO2 lasers, and Reunvion to address skin laxity.
Facial fat grafting is a excellent way to restore volume loss that does not require the maintenance of fillers. The body’s own fat also has an amazing ability to improve skin quality and address two of the categories of aging. For patients who are already planning on surgery or minimally-invasive techniques, this is an excellent time to address a more permanent solution to volume loss. The procedure involves liposuction and specialized processing to create nano fat for facial injections. For patient’s who do not have enough of their own fat, utilizing fillers or Renuva is a great way to restore loss of volume.
BLEPHAROPLASTY (EYELID SURGERY)
The eyes are an important part of human communication and are a focal structure in the aging process. Excess skin can result in wrinkles around the eyes which results in a heavy or tired appearance. A heavy forehead (from too much botox) can change the eyebrow position and results in an angry-appearing brow. Dr. Christie’s facial analysis addresses all components of the periorbita including the brow position and shape, temporal volume, skin excess above or below the eyelid, eyelid positioning, and eyelash volume to determine the best approach to rejuvenation. As always, she likes to start with minimally-invasive and work towards surgery. Dr. Christie will combine chemical peels, laser resurfacing, and radiofrequency microneedling to enhance results. You want to reverse aging while allowing natural animation to achieve a natural result that feels like a refreshed you!
BUCCAL FAT PAD REMOVAL
Excess fullness of the cheeks can be due to excess buccal fat pad volume. To accentuate and refine the cheeks, buccal fat pad excision can help create a more defined facial contour. Dr. Christie exercises this technique with caution as volume loss becomes important as we age.
Traumatic lacerations can become a nightmare if not addressed correctly. Dr. Christie utilizes the latest techniques to perform laceration repairs in combination with her aesthetic approach to minimize the scar burden. Skin type, genetics, and degree of trauma can play a role in the type of scar you may form. Multiple layers of repair, post-procedure instructions, and regular follow-up help ensure the best outcome.
